Ssshh! Michelangelo's at Work
It was on Sunday, 12th Oct '25 that 16 World renonwed Artists got together to produce some of the most famous art pieces we see today. Synergy and Harmony was in the air. Each prodigy was completely engrossed in his work. The tranquility of...WAIT A MINUTE...did I say 2025?
YES I DID! Why? Does it seem impossible? NO! It is not.
In fact, WE have already taken the first step towards the future you just saw.
On Sunday, 16th Oct '05, 80 feet above sea level, 16 young geniuses got together to take part in what was the beginning of a beautiful journey to Self-Expression and Freedom.
The day began at 8:00, with me going down to check that the garage(Our painting Studio) was clean. Rajesh, our watchman had just washed the place and it was still wet and slippery. Then at 9:30 calls were given to Pooja and Shashank to round up the kids. Was informed by Pooja's dadi that Pooja was well on her way to do that. At 10:00 my bell rang! Ananth, the energizer bunny of the area was standing, akimbo on my doorstep, demanding I start the painting competition. "Dear Ananth, there is still 1/2 an hr to go. Why don't you go and call the other kids pleeease" - I pleaded.
10:30 saw the arrival of all the kids, running, yelling and all game for getting down and dirty. The venue was now the terrace (b$%#dy garage was still wet and someone had parked their car) . Had been warned that it might get pretty hot during the day, but I had brushed it off saying "The will be no Sun today, it's MY WORD". Little did I to know that my word would come back to haunt me...
The topics given were -
1. My favourite celebration (Festival, Party, Award Ceremony)
2. If I was a Super Hero what would I be?
We might as well have tried to drive a nail through a concrete wall. "Bhaiya, can I draw a fruit basket. Noooo! Bhaiya I want to make a butterfly"...Kids..."Ok draw whatever you want."
The next you know everybody is down and busy drawing. You could hear the wind whistling past your ears. The silence was broken only by an occassional "Bhaiya, how is this? Can I draw a cloud. Are balloons allowed?". Soon we were joined by my sis Joey and Vishant (my childhood bud).
Everyone were sharing their things. Generally these same kids would be fighting with each other over cricket bats, badminton rackets...Just look at them NOW???
Malvika and Guji came a little late, hence they were sitting a little away. But just look at the love.
They are always at each other and now Malvika is sharing her water colors with her lil' bro, something I never did.

The cutest of the little kiddies, Shashank sat quietly and did his drawing. He was content with the colors he had and drew a beautiful flower and butterfly.
Well like i said, the day was going beautifully till the Gods decided to join in the fun. Apparently young Parjanya must have been painting and by mistake knocked his water bowl over. The heavens opened upon us, causing the tranquility to be shattered in a moment. The very same angels, now turned into devils running around here and there, screaming, shouting and thoroughly enjoying themselves. To tell you the truth, we were enjoying ourselves too...
Well, all good things must end. This day too came to an end. Everyone went home happily, those whose painting were incomplete planned to meet up and complete them together. Even in the evening the way the kids were playing was different.
Laughter could be heard everywhere...
Friends, like I said this was our first step towards a journey of Self-Expression and Freedom.
